How to hire\u00a0the Hall<\/h3>\n
\n\t

The hall hold up to 70 persons seated or 120 persons standing.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are three booking sessions per day:
\n8.00am \u2013 1.00pm\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a01.00pm \u2013 6.00pm\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 6.00pm \u2013 midnight<\/p>\n

1\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0First\u00a0consult the Village Hall Events Calendar (CLICK HERE)\u00a0<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 to find out when the Hall is available.<\/p>\n

2<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Make a provisional booking by telephone or e-mail.\u00a0 Bookings are handled by Helen de Carles, contact her by telephoning 810412, or email brentorvillagehall@gmail.com.<\/span><\/p>\n

3<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Confirm the booking \u2013 you must obtain a booking form from the Booking Secretary \u2013 or download a booking form<\/a>.<\/strong> Then return a signed copy with the full hire fee (the\u00a0Table of Charges is available as a pdf below)\u00a0no later than five days after making a provisional booking.<\/p>\n

Locking the Hall door<\/span><\/strong>
\nPlease don\u2019t force the door and damage the lock! \u00a0It\u2019s easy to open and close.......<\/span>
\n1 Push the door firmly<\/b> until it is\u00a0fully<\/b> closed
\n2 Gently<\/b> lift the handle to engage the bolt - no need to force it!<\/b>
\n3 Insert the key and gently<\/b> turn it fully until the lock engages
\n4 Remove the key
\n5 Gently<\/b> test to see that you have locked the door<\/p>\n

Heating<\/strong><\/span>
\nHeating is provided by overhead infra-red radiant heaters. This is charged in addition to the hiring fee. There is a coin-in-the-slot meter for heating, which accepts \u00a31 an \u00a32 coins, situated in the entrance foyer cupboard.\u00a0 The cost is usually between \u00a32 \u2013 \u00a35 per session according to weather conditions.<\/p>\n

Parking<\/strong><\/span>
\nThere is parking for up to\u00a09 cars (including a dedicatd space for disabled persons\u2019 parking) in front of the hall.\u00a0 Additional cars\u00a0should be parked\u00a0with care\u00a0along the lane in front of the hall or elsewhere in the village.<\/p>\n

Stage Lighting and PA (sound) system<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe Brentorians theatre group own a set of professional stage lighting and a portable PA system for use in the hall.
\nCharges for these start at \u00a325.00 per session for the lighting and \u00a35.00 for the PA system.\u00a0 Contact Colin Dawes 811079 for more details.<\/em><\/p>\n

Marquee hire<\/strong><\/span>
\nBrentor Village Hall owns two marquees.<\/p>\n

One is a 12m x 6m commercial-quality marquee jointly owned with Lamerton Parish Council.\u00a0 It can have window panels on two sides and has no flooring (although this can be purchased elsewhere).\u00a0 Erecting this marquee is a specialist and physical task that must be supervised.\u00a0 It is available for hire, on the Village Hall site only, for \u00a3250 per hiring of up to three days (for Brentor residents providing a team of at least six persons to assist with erection and dismantling) or \u00a3500 for non-residents (again providing a team of at least six persons to assist with erection and dismantling).\u00a0 Since this marquee is joinly owned it is essential to book the marquee well in advance.<\/p>\n

A smaller, lightweight marquee, 8m x 4m, is also available for hire and costs \u00a3200 for residents and \u00a3400 for non-residents (again providing a team of at least six persons to assist with erection and dismantling).<\/p>\n

There is a 30-amp power supply in the grounds of the Village Hall to provide outside power to the marquees.<\/p>\n

Both marquees can only be dismantled and packed away in dry conditions - hirers must be aware that plans for dismantling will always be subject to the weather conditions.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
