{"id":11862,"date":"2022-02-23T20:39:44","date_gmt":"2022-02-23T20:39:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brentorpc.org.uk\/?page_id=11862"},"modified":"2022-02-23T20:39:44","modified_gmt":"2022-02-23T20:39:44","slug":"footpaths-and-bridleways","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.brentorpc.org.uk\/?page_id=11862","title":{"rendered":"Footpaths, bridleways and byways"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #008000;\"><strong>Brentor has eight public footpaths, three bridleways and one restricted byway.\u00a0 In total they are less than 11k in length &#8211; not a lot for a rural parish like ours.\u00a0 But they still offer opportunities for walking in quiet areas of the parish away from familiar roads.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Footpaths<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThese public rights of way are meant for <span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">walking, running, mobility scooters or powered wheelchairs\u00a0<\/span><\/span>only. \u00a0You are allowed to walk your dog as long as it is under your close control. When walking a dog, you must ensure that it keeps to the public footpath and does not trespass into nearby properties. \u00a0Prams, pushchair or wheelchairs can also be used on a footpath.\u00a0<em>Shown in <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">red<\/span> <\/strong>on the maps below.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>Bridleways<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThese are meant for <span style=\"color: #800000;\">walkers, horse riders, bicyclists, mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs.<\/span> \u00a0Bicyclists are expected to give way to walkers and horse riders. <em>Shown in <strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">purple<\/span><\/strong> on the maps below.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Restricted byways<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">These are highways over which the public is entitled to travel <span style=\"color: #800000;\">on foot, horseback and with non-mechanically-propelled vehicles (such as pedal cycles and horse-drawn vehicles). They can also be used for mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs.<\/span>\u00a0<em>Shown in <strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">purple<\/span><\/strong> on the maps below.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #d4832c;
